The sound of hasty footsteps was immediately followed by people conversing with one another.

In front of me was a person dressed in a maids uniform. However, the weak illumination in the corridor made it challenging to make out the details of her face.

The sun was about to set, and the rays it cast could be seen reflected in the glass panes of the hallway. On occasion, however, the light reflecting off of her short white hair might be seen coming in through the window panes.

I was at the point where I could no longer take the silence, so I finally broke the silence with an angered tone of voice.

”Then, what is he looking for? ”

Because I have no choice but to comply, even though I don want to in my heart.

”Did he take into account the fact that I had just gotten home from working late and that I was utterly worn out? ”

I continued to convey that I was annoyed while insisting that my question be answered.

In this seemingly endless hallway, only the sound of footsteps could be heard, and the maid in front of me acted as though she had not heard.

After what seemed like an eternity, the maid broke the silence, almost as if she was aware that I was getting impatient and intended to continue nagging.

”Young master is keen to learn the results of the information you provided after discovering that you have returned. ”

She responded in a calm and collected manner.

Then, after that, a response came that seemed attentive. Nonetheless, it was clear from the tone of her voice and the expression on her face that the maid didn care.

”Once your report has been turned in, you are free to relax. but, if there is anything else I can do for you, please don hesitate to let me know. ”

My day began with me running errands in a kingdom that is rumoured to be preparing for war, and I just got back home today.

When I arrived at the palace, I was met by this maid who worked for that person and told me to follow her without making any explanation. I was also given instructions to keep silent.

As a result of everything that had occurred over the previous few days, I had intended to take some time off to rest and relax, but it turned out that I was unable to do so.

”Seriously annoying ”

I whispered a few things as I followed her from behind.

”And just what was it that you discovered when you were there? ” Are they beginning to enforce the policy that citizens dress appropriately when they visit public parts of the city?

The maid, who never showed any signs of emotion and always had a flat expression on her face, all of a sudden asked an odd question.

”I discovered a lot of intriguing things there, and I don understand what you mean when you say people are wearing clothes. ”

I responded to her question with a look of astonishment on my face.

After listening to my response, the maid did not respond but chose to remain silent, restoring the serene mood that had prevailed initially.

After some time had passed, there was the sound of a chuckle.

”Hahaha…I bet the pretentious way in which you asked that question was because you were thinking of another person as being lower than yourself. Therefore, it is not surprising that you are behaving in such an arrogant manner. How could I possibly have overlooked that?

I couldn stop giggling while covering my mouth with my hand as if I had just come to a hilarious realisation. As a direct consequence, some of the exhaustion I had been feeling disappeared.

A couple of days ago, I spent some time in a remote location known as the Klein Kingdom. As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, there is a chance that this kingdom will become embroiled in the conflict between the two empires.

It is a painful reality that a small kingdom has to compete with two imperial giants. Even though the territory of the Klein kingdom is called a kingdom, its part covers half of the overall territory of the empire in general.

However, right? The length of the fight would determine the rate at which their area shrunk, and whichever side emerged triumphant in the end, the Klein kingdom would be the one to suffer the most as a direct result of the conflict.

I was just thinking about it when all of a sudden I recalled someone I had just met there.

”When you meet my new friend that I met there, you will be astounded because, believe it or not, she is exactly like you. ”

After hearing my remark, the maid who was walking in front of me abruptly stopped what she was doing and turned around to face me. It appeared as though she was taken aback by what I had said.

Along with the large window that emitted blue light from the crystal glass due to the sunlight reflecting off the glass, two people were seen facing each other while standing in front of the window.

At this time, it was possible to make out the maids face. She has a gorgeous look with stunningly beautiful purple eyes. When exposed to light, it emits a mysterious aura that causes you to freeze for a few seconds.

Even though Ive known her for a long time, I still find it difficult to conceal my envy whenever Im in the same room as her because she has a body full of alluring curves and assets that any man cannot help but stare at.

Although she was staring at me with a cold face, she gave the impression that she was happy and appeared to be interested in what I had to say.

”Young master might be interested in getting to know your new friend as well, especially if she is identical to me in every aspect. ”

After a short period of silence, she started talking again while adopting a hinking posture by holding her hands above and inclining her head ever-so-slightly forward.

”From what I gather, the kingdom you are currently exploring is home to unadorned animals that do not wear any kind of ornamentation, right? ”

The things she said caused one to ponder, mainly due to the emotionless tone she maintained throughout her statements, and this was true regardless of whether she was joking or being severe.

”Even though the Klein kingdom is home to a wide variety of beast species, the inhabitants have created their own unique social civilisation. ”

I exclaimed in a fervent manner, showing that my excitement was genuine.

What I saw there was shocking to me, so I knew she was just making fun of other races for how she was, but I could no longer stand to listen to her jokes.

As if ignoring what I said, the maid abruptly turned around and resumed walking in the same direction without saying a word.

I showed no concern and continued to follow in her footsteps.

If there were other people present, its possible that they would pass out as a result of seeing or hearing the maids actions and words while the conversation was going on. The reprimand was not a trivial matter.

If she had a family, then depending on the decisions made by the person she spoke to, her whole family was either erased from history or became an enslaved person whose oppression was passed down to the next generation.

On the other hand, because she worked as a maid for that particular individual, I grew accustomed to interacting with her.

My only response would be a headache if I were to come into contact with that persons subordinates, regardless of how brilliant they are or how extraordinary their strength is.

There aren many people in this kingdom who are more talented or stronger than I am. One of them is this maid, but Im not sure how strong she is now.

On the other hand, it was crystal clear that if we were to get into a conflict, I would need the assistance of five other people whose capabilities were on par with mine in order to match her.

At that very instant, the two peoples footsteps came to an abrupt halt and stopped altogether.

”We have arrived at our destination. ”

I was rudely jolted out of my daydream by a voice that emerged in front of me while thinking of a strategy if I found myself in a position where I had to confront her.

In front of me was a door that not only led to that mans bedroom but also to his office.

Before knocking on the door, the maid uttered the words ”young master ” in a low voice as she approached it.

”Sucht, I am extremely grateful to you for everything youve done. ”

On the other side of the door, there was a male voice that could be heard. For some reason, it was apparent and comforting to the ears.

”Since I just got back to my own damn house, would it be possible for you to push back the date by a few days? ”

I blurted out without giving it much thought as I took a few steps forward and slammed the door in a manner that demonstrated how eager I was to get my frustrations out.

Sucht gave a slightly raised eyebrow after hearing this from behind, but she did not respond to the statement in any way.

”I hope everything works out for you, princess. ”

After Sucht had lowered her head, grabbed the doorknob, and closed the door, the hallway had returned to its usual calm and peaceful state.
