It was as if the AI system had abandoned them.

“What’s happening?” A green-skinned warrior stopped running and panted for breath.
For seven hours now, he had been pushed to the point of exhaustion by the AI test system.
However, for some reason, his surroundings had gone dark, giving himself a chance to catch his breath.

“Rest, I need to rest.” The green-skinned warrior held his chest and stopped moving, using this precious moment of time where the system had collapsed to recompose himself.

To be more precise, the AI system had not collapsed.
It had gone crazy!

Xia Fei’s abnormal actions had left it confused and shocked.
It had, thus, decided to use all of its resources to deal with Xia Fei, so it stopped the tests for everyone else.
It devoted all of its power to Xia Fei, hoping that all-out calculation would be enough to explain his actions.

“Only one left.” Xia Fei slowly strode toward the last, despairing hunter.

At his side were his two accomplices in this counter-hunt, Furball and Peacock Blue.

Both had been influenced by their master to care less and less about the rules.
For example, they had worked with Xia Fei to defy the rules of the universe and prevent the Phoenix Tail Stone, an Immemorial Mystical Armament, from returning to the sea of stars.

There was a sinister smile on his face as Xia Fei pushed this last hunter to a dead end, with Furball behind, Xia Fei in front, and Peacock Blue covering the flanks.

“Don’t move! I have some things to do first,” Xia Fei sternly ordered.

Furball and Peacock Blue prepared to attack at any moment as Xia Fei approached with a sinister face.
The hunter had essentially given up on resisting and curiously looked at Xia Fei.

Oro asked in frustration and helplessness, “Xia Fei, what are you trying to do now?”

Xia Fei solemnly replied, “It’s very strange.
These fellows are clearly simulated by the system, but when my weapon digs into their bodies, I feel like I’m really tearing through flesh and breaking bones.”

He paused before continuing, “I want to do some research and see what sort of system this is that can achieve such a high level of realism.”

*Cough!*

Oro choked.
Defying the rules of the Ancient Battlefield was one thing; now, Xia Fei even wanted to research the Ancient Battlefield’s system? What was this nonsense? Had the old immortals of the two supreme races designed this supreme battlefield so that Xia Fei could research it?

At the same time, in the mysterious room, the super AI system was on the verge of collapsing! Since ancient times, this had been the first person who wanted to research it! He was undoubtedly the most insane of all the intelligent lifeforms it had encountered!

The room was already scorching hot.
This machine could not be described as insane.
Rather, it had gone manic!

A deafening and ugly sound came from the inside of the machine.

The smell of burned starch, which was tinged with sweetness, filled the air.

All of the indicator lights madly flashed, just like the cosmos blinking in and out of existence.

Xia Fei had no idea what sort of severe chain reaction his actions had triggered.
He was weighing the Blood Crystal in his hand and viciously staring at the last hunter!

*Zing!*

With a swing of his dagger, Xia Fei cut off the enemy’s mask and revealed an ape-like face.
It seemed like this hunter was not some completely evolved species, with four white fangs extending from its mouth.

“Do you recognize this fellow? What race does he belong to?” Xia Fei asked.
He did not know much about the various races in the Law Realm, while Oro was undoubtedly an expert on the subject.

Oro was almost dizzy with rage.
“Please, I’m begging you; can you stop messing around? This is an appearance set by the system.
How could the Law Realm have a race like this?”

Xia Fei was unmoved, muttering to himself, “It’s not a race belonging to the Law Realm? Now that’s strange.
According to high-level computational theory, all AI processes must have an original form.
Could the system have produced it on its own? That means that this Ancient Battlefield’s AI system is rather advanced!”

*Whoosh! Whoosh!*

His dagger danced once more!

With clean and simple cuts, he hacked away at the hunter’s armor and revealed the muscular body underneath.
The curvature of the muscles was sharp and defined; the abs were so tough that they seemed to be made of steel.
The hunter’s body did not have much fur, and what fur it did have was sparsely distributed.

The hunter produced by the system seemed to have gone dumb.
He simply stood there, like someone who had been stripped naked and paraded through the streets, rage and sorrow in his eyes.

Xia Fei stroked his chin and muttered, “I wonder if it simulated the reproductive system?”

Oro almost fainted!

The super AI system also almost fainted from rage!

Anyone who heard these words would break down!

This was simply too much! He even wanted to research the reproductive system! What the hell was wrong with him?

The manic system could not hold on any longer.
*Boom!* All of its indicator lights went out! The entire Ancient Battlefield of Gods and Demons went dark!

“Unknown error! The system has been forced to restart…” After a long while, an icy female voice rang out, sounding very fatigued.
