Senior Commander, lower your gun first,” said Ning Shu.

“Lower your guns,” commanded the senior commander.
Then he pointed his flashlight at Ning Shu again and swept it up and down to get a better look at her.
“Are you a human right now or a zombie?”

“Zombie,” replied Ning Shu honestly.

When the others heard that she was a zombie, they immediately pointed their guns at Ning Shu and Xiao Ming again.
Xiao Ming growled softly at these people, but Ning Shu calmed him, then said to the senior commander, “Senior Commander, trust me, I won’t harm you.
Why are you guys leaving the base so late at night?”

“Why were those people trying to kill you?” She continued.

“Lower your guns,” commanded the senior commander again.
Then he said to Daisy, “It’s good that you’re alive.
Wolf and Phoenix have taken over the base and betrayed the country.
The higher ups have all pretty much been killed by Wolf.
I drank the gene essence you gave me and was fortunately able to awaken a special ability.
The reason Wolf left me alive was because he wanted to get me on his side.
However, I chose to take this chance to escape with my subordinates and was discovered.”

When the senior commander saw that Ning Shu was with a variant zombie, he understood that Daisy really had become a zombie.
He just didn’t know how Daisy had been able to retain her memories after she had turned into a zombie.

Ning Shu asked the senior commander, “Then where are you guys planning to go next?”
