Is This True (Part One)

Yu Fu nearly burst out in laughter and could only use a hand to cover her mouth.

The look in Gu ShuBai’s eyes was strange.
It was as if he was laughing but without actually laughing.

No matter the situation, he could keep his composure.
Each and every action reflected Marquis Gu’s Manor in a good light…

With the sole exception being when he started a fight with Kun WuShang.

Having been described like this in front of the man that she liked, Princess DanYang anxiously turned to look at him in hopes that she would hear a refutation come from his mouth.

She was only a little round.
She was not at all fat.

The girls of Eastern Ling found being slender to be the most beautiful, though it was not so exaggerated to the point that there were “many people who starved to death in hopes of a thin waist.” But to call a girl fat to her face, this was something that nobody could tolerate.

Moreover, she had said large and fat.
This sort, this sort of description was usually used for the butcher!

“YunYan, how can you speak like this.
Princess DanYang is a girl.
How can you use these sorts of words.”

Princess DanYang’s breath got caught in her throat, and her complexion did not seem to recover.

He had not said that she was not fat.
Instead, he placed blame on the fact that Su YunYan should not have used those words to describe a girl.
Could it be that he also thought that she was fat?!

“Eldest cousin, it was Princess DanYang who found Yu Fu to be short and even compared her to a performer.
I was so mad that I became a little impolite.”

With Gu ShuBai present, Su YunYan was not the slightest bit afraid.

She was not familiar with Princess DanYang; however, she also knew that she would not do anything too improper in front of Gu ShuBai.

Moreover, this was Marquis Gu’s Manor, not the imperial palace.
Not even the imperial family could crush the local boss.
What could she herself do?

Bleh.

Gu ShuBai looked over at Yu Fu.
She was clearly the one to have been bullied, yet she did not seem unhappy in the slightest.
Staying next to madam Su, she looked exceedingly obedient and cute.

Her pinkish-purple clothes made her skin look snow white.
It made everything nearby look a little dimmer.

Madam Su noticed his gaze and could not help but glance over at Yu Fu, her eyes full of approval.

Yu Fu was the youngest but was the most lenient of everyone present.
She did not take Princess DanYang’s mocking to heart.

She truly did not take it to heart and was not just pretending that she did not mind.

This sort of bearing was something that even someone of madam Su’s age could not accomplish.
It seemed that she really would need to have Su YunYan learn properly from Yu Fu.

“Princess, is what Su YunYan said true?”

Gu ShuBai became a great deal more serious.

The dispute between her and Su YunYan was something that Gu ShuBai had treated as an argument between young children.
It would end with just a light scolding.

When the target was Yu Fu, he became so serious.

Princess DanYang’s chest suddenly tightened.

It seemed that what the second prince had said was true.
He really did like Yu Fu!

“I, I was just joking with sister Yu Fu.
Sister Yu Fu and I have known each other for longer than young miss Su.
Could it be that making a joke requires approval from young miss Su?”

She was certain that Yu Fu was easy to bully and could not refute what she had said, thus she looked provocatively at Su YunYan.

“You!”

Su YunYan did not know how to reply for a moment.

The one to have been mocked by Princess DanYang was Yu Fu.
Her acting out and speaking up for Yu Fu was indeed something that she should not have done.

If Yu Fu really went with what Princess DanYang had said, she would be the one to lose a great deal of face.

Thinking of this, she uneasily looked at Yu Fu.

The latter seemed to be oblivious to the hostility between the two.
She just said with a smile: “Princess, sister Su was also just joking.
Don’t mind it too much.
Let’s watch the play!”

All of her worries were unnecessary.

Calling one princess and one sister Su, Yu Fu’s bias could clearly be seen.

Su YunYan let out a laugh and exchanged a glance with her, thinking to herself that with this cute smiling face, it would be impossible for someone to get mad even if they wanted to.

Princess DanYang resentfully sat down.

If she continued to stand there, she would stand out a little too much, and others would definitely start to take notice.
They would say that she was not sufficiently dignified and magnanimous.

More importantly, she could not continue to pursue Su YunYan’s guilt in front of Gu ShuBai.

Were they not just a young miss related to Marquis Gu’s Manor and a girl from an unclear origin? Yet they dared to directly oppose a princess?

The corner of her lips moved slightly, her smile very apparent.

Just wait and see.
Sooner or later, they would see!

The performance began on the stage, while the spectators down below applauded.
The servants of Marquis Gu’s Manor began to scatter bits of gold and silver onto the stage.

The leader of the troupe was smiling radiantly and hastily had a group of young performers quietly go kneel below the stage to give thanks in the direction of Gu HuaiJiang.

After the liveliness dissipated, the play entered the main plot.

A performer in a cerise dress gracefully came out.
Their long white sleeves were held in front of their body.
Moving the sleeve to cover their face, they wanted to speak but also held back.

With these movements, the melancholy of Du ShiNiang’s innocent love was on display.

Madam Su smiled and applauded, “Yu Fu, is that the Yu Guan that you were speaking of? His figure is great, and his performance is great.
It’s no wonder you were praising him.”

Yu Fu opened her mouth and subconsciously wanted to say that it was fourth brother who had the keen insight; however, with Princess DanYang present, she could only swallow her words back down.

Princess DanYang seemed to notice her actions and covered her mouth in disdain.
Standing up, she said to madam Su: “I am feeling a little unwell.
I will go for a walk before coming back.
Madam, please enjoy the play.”

The three of them got along like family, so what fun was it to sit alone?

She would be better served by going for a walk.
Who knew, she might even run into Gu ShuBai and be able to say a few words in private.

Yu Fu watched her walk down the corridor then suddenly saw a slim and graceful girl in white clothes coming from the other direction.
At her side was one of Marquis Gu’s Manor’s grannies.
