Chapter 6.2 – About Fan

Yang Han woke up with a head of messy hair to eat breakfast.
When she passed by the bathroom, she really couldn’t bring herself to face the man with the surname Han who was brushing his teeth.

Yang Han said resentfully, “I won’t call you, so quickly leave.”

Han Shi Yu: “???”

She went to the kitchen as Yang Mo handed her a cup of hot milk.
Noticing the dark circles under her eyes, he asked, “You stayed up late again?”

Yang Han: “Blame Han Shi Yu.”

Han Shi Yu spit out the toothpaste bubbles and asked from afar, “Explain yourself properly.”

Yang Han ate her egg sandwich.

She glanced at Yang Mo and thought to herself, how could it be possible for him to be so shy and passive in her dream.

Ever since she entered Xu Jia’s so-called corrupted door, she undoubtedly thought that Yang Mo was the gong.

Yang Mo saw her in a daze, so he sat in front of her and tried asking, “Yang Yang…did anything happen to you lately?”

Yang Han shook her head.

Yang Mo opened his mouth to ask something again, but it got stuck in his throat.
He pursed his lips together before saying, “Remember to talk to me if anything’s on your mind.”

Yang Han smiled at him, “Mhmm.”

Right after that, he heard the vague talking sounds coming from Han Shi Yu in the bathroom.

Han Shi Yu fumbled around, “No, Old Zhou…I didn’t mean to not reply to you.
I didn’t see your messages…wait for me to spit out the foam first…”

“I was just casually looking and wanted to encourage the creators at Qu Di’s literature column.
There’s no other meaning to it.”

“Yang Mo…Yang Mo’s doing fine.
There’s no problem at all.”

Yang Han knew that he was talking about the hot search matter.
She got so nervous that she started chewing slower, even glancing at Yang Mo guiltily.

It took a lot of effort to muddle through with Zhou Yi.
Han Shi Yu then gave his secretary a call.

His secretary reported to him, “The trending topic has dropped around 10 positions.
I arranged for the operational team to privately inform the author of ‘As if a fish bone was stuck in one’s throat’, asking her to continue updating only after three days later when the buzz had died down.
The author didn’t refuse it and was quite happy too.”

“Last night, the number of topics and participation percentage for ‘Ji Yue’ skyrocketed.
There were a lot of new submissions of posts as well.
Should we restrict them a little during reviewing?”

“No need to limit it.
Just review it normally.” Han Shi Yu said, “At the same time, take advantage of the hype to promote Qu Di’s fanfiction culture.
Other great works should be promoted just as much too.”

Who wouldn’t love a ready-made hype, right?

He could hear his secretary being excited for a bit.
She asked curiously next, “President Han, do you ship it yourself too?”

Han Shi Yu took another sip of water to rinse his mouth, “I take a look occasionally.”

The secretary said, “Dare I recommend you a few more fanfictions, ‘My Iron Rooster Boyfriend’ and ‘Those Days of Making Autotuned Remixes for the National Husband’.
It’s a fluffy story, I guarantee your satisfaction.”

“???” Han Shi Yu: “Are you trying to say that your pay is too high?”

The secretary: “Sobs.”

He didn’t know that his own secretary was dragged into the fandom in one night thanks to all the great fan writers and fan artists out there.

Xu Jia said, “Yang Yang, I was really hyped last night.”

Yang Han sent a sleepy emoji.

Xu Jia asked with interest, “How did your dad react when he saw those fanfictions with Han Shi Yu?”

Yang Han: “I don’t know.
He didn’t mention it.”

Xu Jia: “Sigh…there was an overload of information yesterday.
It was probably the highlight of my life.
I couldn’t quite believe that all of that was true…”

Her classmate’s father was the president of Ji Xun.

Ji Xun’s president was already married and he was attracted to men.

–– As well as her CP finally breathing after being asleep for eight hundred years.

After chatting for a while, Xu Jia finally brought up the main topic, “By the way, I’ve set up the group chat with all 6 people already.
I’ve added you in.”

Yang Han realized there was indeed another new group chat in her list.

The name was ‘Raising Dogs Institution”

Yang Han: “???”

Shang Xue: “Who named it this shitty name?”

The class president: “Hahahahaha.”

Fang Jia: “Why are you all up so early on the weekend.”

Xu Jia sent a message, “Where’s Xiao Lu?”

Shang Xue: “He joined that programming class.
There are training on weekends so he’s not free.”

“Alright,” Xu Jia said, “Yang Yang has something important to announce today.”

Shang Xue was the type of trendy person who constantly paid attention to the hot searches, so he joked around, “Zhou Yi is your sister-in-law?”

Yang Han: “……”

Xu Jia: “Hahahaha, you’re quite funny, I’ll praise you for that.”

The class president: “Hahahahaha.”

After Xu Jia had calmed down, she said, “Listen to Yang Han.
She really has something serious to say.”

Fang Jia: “Go ahead.”

Yang Han felt like the atmosphere was a little too serious, as though her next words would be dismissed as fake news if it couldn’t shock them.

But the truth was that, they did get shocked but also confused.

As a result, the group chat fell into silence for the next minute like the quiet before the storm.
It made Yang Han think for a second that they had gone offline.

Yang Han: “?”

Fang Jia: “It’s a little…difficult to accept…”

Yang Han’s heart tightened a little.
She steadied herself and tried hard to stay calm.
“What’s wrong?”

Fang Jia: “Your brother and your dad…Even if they’re not blood-related, your cousin is still your mom’s blood-related brother’s son…”

“……” Yang Han said, “Wait a second…No, the cousin part was a lie.
Han Shi Yu is my dad, Yang Mo is also my dad.
I was adopted.”

Fang Jia: “Oh, then I’m alright with it.”

Yang Han: “…And?”

Fang Jia: “I said I’m fine with it.”

Shang Xue: “If this news broke out, the media would blow up.”

He said with a huff, “Not letting me tell anyone is simply a test of my endurance.
Yang Han, you have to give me hush money.”

The class president: “I never thought there would be a day where I would see a rumour come to life.”

Seeing the quiet and peacefulness on the screen, Yang Han gritted her teeth and asked, “Don’t you guys think it’s weird?”

Fang Jia: “What’s weird about it? If I could be that popular and rich, I would be willing to be gay too, okay?”

Xu Jia: “Your thought process is quite dangerous, young child.”

The class president: “If our homeroom teacher found out, he would likely place you on the class table and let everyone who enter the classroom worship you.”

Their response was simple and plain.
There wasn’t any faked consideration for the sake of their friendship nor was there any sarcastic, mean teasing.
None of those so-called comforting either.

Yang Han thought that this was really, really, really great.

Three ‘really’s meant the best in the world.

Yang Han pursued her lips together, “Wait a few weeks more.
Then come over to my house to play again on the weekend.”
