At the central water fountain, there was a man wearing attire similar to that of a butler’s standing there were Ria was this morning.

Amelia and I looked at each other.
We didn’t think that our names would be called by that man who seemed somewhat timid.

「By Kurou-sama’s orders, I have the privilege of guiding the two of you to the hotel.

「We will be heading there on foot.

Even though it’s the City of Water, there was, of course, paths on which people could walk on, and because there were bridges built everywhere, it was also possible to travel around on foot.

Even so, it was dangerous to walk around without a guide as the paths were not only complicated, all the buildings had similar shapes and were of similar hues as well. 

It seems that a long time ago, an adventurer had made a lot of efforts to make a map of this maze of a city, however, due to its sheer complexity, he became discouraged after a little over a year.

Even so, thanks to him, a map that showed the general outline of the city and it’s main streets was completed and the number of tourists increased, so it was a great achievement, wasn’t it.

This story was what Emil, the grandchild of the aforementioned adventurer, told us as we walked along the street. 

「『There’s nothing you can’t do if you put in the effort, however, that city is a different story』was what my grandfather would always say.
You two as well, please watch your steps.」

Ever since we left the central water fountain, we’ve been walking for approximately twenty minutes, and when we walked into the street that was lined with obviously high-classed hotels, Emil stopped.

The buildings were very tall, looking up at the top most floor made my neck hurt.

「Welcome, to Caesar Hotel.
We are honored to have both the elven princess and the summoned hero-samba as our guests.」

When I saw the hotel staff lined up with their heads bowed similar to that of a Japanese-style inn from a certain place, I unconsciously turned around and wanted to go back. 

It was the same as the Hotel Raven from the other day for me who is a commoner, I felt out of place.

「You’re not going inside, Akira?」

「Ah, no, I’m going now.」

However, this was the hotel that Kurou chose, so we don’t need to worry about our safety.

That being the case, Kurou had considerable connections. 

The room we were guided to was on the top most floor.

Within the room that was obviously too small for three people to inhabit, Kurou was elegantly drinking black tea.

「Just like the hotel in Mari, the hotels you choose are all high class ones.
We don’t have that kind of money.」

When I put our luggage down and said this, Amelia nodded in agreement.

Maa, the main reason why we were running out of money was due to Amelia’s food expenses though.

「No need to worry.
This place belongs to someone also who owes me.」

It was as if he was going around collecting debts.

「I helped them do things like get rid of drunkards at the hotel.
If I remember correctly, this hotel, a competitor who was jealous of their successful business was going to let a rampaging horse loose on them.」

It wasn’t persistent harassment, but survival of the fittest, huh.

In this world, what would happen in this kind of situation.

If this was in Japan, they would be charged for the property damage and inflicting bodily harm, but here, there was no constitution or penal code to begin with, so there’s no organization like the police either.

The people here lived in this place where even when someone committed murder, there was no courthouse, nor law that upheld the standard.

How did it feel to live in this place where there was no concept of crime. 

It’s been a while since I’ve come to this world, and perhaps it’s because I haven’t taken up permanent residence in a single place, but I’m not familiar with the laws, or more precisely, the unspoken rules.

「That, how did you put a stop to it?」

「I suppressed the horse, there was a person nearby who had an animal tranquilizer, so I had them use it.」

Suppressing a rampaging horse, the only one with the power to do so, was probably me?

Even now, Kurou looked to be considerably strong, but how long ago was it when he was at his peak.

「Their reputation fell, but their still operating in the building across from us.」

As we were talking about such an absurd story, Amelia had dozed off.

「Amelia, if you’re sleepy, then go to the bedroom and sleep.」

I did not know if she was agreeing or refuting.
As she mumbled this, I held onto Amelia’s hand that she used to rub her eyes.

When she’s sleepy, Amelia becomes much more childish than she normally was, behaving like a spoiled child.

At times like these, I thought that it would be good if my spoiled younger sister was here.

I carried Amelia in my arms as I began to speak with Kurou once again.
