“Where is Wei Min?”

“I sent him back to the residence.”

“Ok, got it.” Wei Zhe hung up the phone and immediately dialed a call to the police department.
It was a gentle woman who picked up the phone, but Wei Zhe did not even bother to show his tenderness towards her.
He went straight to following up on the kidnapping incident that happened in the afternoon.

The woman knew a little bit about it, but she didn’t say it explicitly, only stating in a perfunctory manner saying that the police department would take care of it.

Wei Zhe pressed his lips together and spoke harshly, “One of the children that got kidnapped was my younger brother, do you know the importance of his status? Tell your director to pick up the phone.
If my brother is lost, do you know about the upcoming construction of the mall located in the West suburban district? That was sponsored by my dad.
If my brother doesn’t return, then I don’t think there’s any need for us to discuss further about the project.”

Currently, the downtown area of B City was experiencing rapid expansion and was populated with large quantities of people, so the city had been thinking about building another super mall to stimulate the economy.

How groundbreaking was the first day of mall construction! More than half of the population in B City knew about it.
Upon hearing this, the woman was now aware of the legitimacy of Wei Zhe’s words and didn’t dare to make any decisions independently.

It was reported to higher and higher officials in the hierarchy.
When the officials heard it, they couldn’t wait to tear the kidnappers apart.

It was already troublesome when Artist Xu lost his son.
Although Xu Jiaming was solely an outdated artist, he had powerful connections.
He wasn’t lacking authority figures among his friend list! The department was already in a half-wild state, they had sent all the policemen out to search.

Now a young master from the Wei family jumped in.
This… indeed left them at a dead-end!

Wei Zhe was being politely invited to the police department, where he met the anxiously waiting Xu Jiaming and his wife.

Under normal circumstances, they might have introduced themselves to make connections, since having an extra friend meant more opportunities.
Now that they had no idea where their most important family members were, none of them had the mood, they only nodded to each other without any extra words.

As requested by Wei Zhe, one of the policemen from the department showed him the low resolution video and the cliche kidnapping routine that would become infamous in the future.

“This is a planned kidnapping incident.” After contemplating for a while, Wei Zhe pointed to the video recording to explain, “Look, those people sat there without any movement.
From where they sat, they could see the art exhibition from across the street through the windows.”

“En en.” The clueless police who were in charge of this kidnapping case were suddenly enlightened.
They were previously worried that they wouldn’t  know where to start, but now, as long as they had something, they could follow the clues to track the kidnappers.

“Then…” Wei Zhe pointed to another monitor frame.
“When Wei Jing and the other child came out from the art exhibition, those people inside the store all shifted their gazes toward that direction.
They were probably making sure that it was the right person.”

Although they were not in the same monitoring frame, it could be inferred from the timing.

“A planned kidnap, and they knew that the two children were inside the art exhibition…” Wei Zhe turned his head towards the couple who were listening to his prediction and asked, “May I ask if you had started a feud with anyone recently?”

“No.” Xu Jiaming shook his head unhesitantly after a careful thought.

He was doing pretty well recently, and plus, he has an amiable personality.
He did have a bunch of friends, but enemies…the most he had were from trivial matters, and they would not have gone this far.
