At night.

On the spacious bed, Wei Jing was covered in a thin blanket, laying down beside Wei Min.
He had only squished together on the same bed with his big brother a few times when he was younger and now, after more than 10 years, another person laid at his side, leaving Wei Jin feeling uncomfortable.

“Second brother, you can’t fall asleep?” Wei Min turned his head in the dark and breathed lightly onto the child’s face.
“Let’s chat!”

“What do you want to talk about?” Wei Jing’s gaze fixated on the dark ceiling.
After some time in the dark, his eyes had slowly adjusted to the dark environment, and he could now vaguely see the outlines of the surrounding objects.

“En?” Wei Min pondered for a few seconds and pretended to ask casually, “Do you have a close relationship with big brother? Last time when you came home, he went to pick you up himself.
How nice! I also want a big brother.” ‘Coming home’ was a tactful way of describing it.

Wei Jing was also confused about his relationship with big brother.

Though it could be said that they had a close relationship, they didn’t seem to have many conversations.
But to say that they didn’t, they bonded pretty well during their interactions with each other, as if they had known each other for a long time.

“It’s ok!” At last, Wei Jing could only think of this ambiguous answer.

“I also have a big brother, but he’s my older cousin.” A light flashed over Wei Min’s eyes and he muttered, “Although he sometimes bullied me, he actually treated me pretty well~ Whenever mom is busy, he will take me out with him to play.”

Older cousin? So it would be a big brother from his mother’s side.

“But ever since I came here, I never saw him again.” Wei Min’s voice was mixed with sobs, “I miss him so much.”

Leaving a familiar place and familiar kin to live in the strange Wei family’s residence could be considered to be a traumatic experience for a six year old kid.
Wei Jing hesitated for a moment then extended his arms to embrace the child in his arms, patting his back for reassurance.

“It’s fine.
You guys are in the same city.
Whenever you want to meet him, you can do so when you are on break.” Wei Jing replied.

“Really?” Wei Min asked with uncertainty, “Will dad get mad for it? And also big brother.
Would they think that I’m in too much trouble?”

“You guys are just meeting each other, it should be fine.” Wei Jing comforted.

“Thank you, second brother.” Wei Min smiled through tears.
“I’ll bring my big brother over and introduce you guys to each other sometime.
He is a really nice person.”

Wei Jing actually didn’t really want to know anyone else’s ‘big brother,’ but it wouldn’t be polite to refuse Wei Min to his face, so he replied ambiguously, “We’ll see when the time comes! There is school tomorrow, we better sleep soon, or else we won’t wake up tomorrow morning.”

“Okay.” Wei Min answered obediently.
His tiny hands searched in the dark and carefully grabbed onto the other person’s pajamas to fully express his reliance.

Wei Jing pressed his lips together, but he still decided not to push the other person away.

Just once, only this time.

The entire Wei family residence woke up at the first gleam of light.
The servants busily came and went to finish the tasks they had on hand as they had to finish all the preparation before the head of the household woke up.

Wei Zhe’s alarm was always punctual.
At 6:30am, he already rose from bed.
At 7am, he ran a lap around the artificial grass lawn outside the house.
At 7:30am, he took a shower and changed his clothes, then woke Wei Jing up to have breakfast together.

But there was a slight difference today.
