Chloe’s work seemed to have a great effect.

Unlike my previous life where I never received a dance request and was stuck around the wall, I had already received dance requests twice.
Even when I was on the way back from dancing with a young lord, whom I did not know very well, my heart was pounding with excitement.

When I returned to my initial place, everyone was chatting except for lady Cruz.

Chloe looked at me and asked.

“What did you talk about with the young lord from the Timberlake Viscounty?”

“He said it’s like he’s meeting me for the first time today.”

Then they all burst into laughter.
Chloe gave me a piece of advice as she returned to her usual composure.

“You should change your makeup style.
Because this is perfect.
Now you have found a makeup style that suits you.”

I took Chloe’s words seriously.

But then, someone came in between us.

“Lady Grint!”

“I could finally get the chance to greet you, lady Beth.”

Chloe smiled gracefully at her.

The young lady of the Beth family, with her fiery red hair, greeted Chloe first.
Then she turned to the rest of us and smiled.

“Everyone here.
Nice to meet you all.”

I responded to her with a smile. Finally, I get the chance to see her face. I thought to myself.

Lady Beth was the one who spread the false rumour to the tea party attendants that day.
A ridiculous rumour of me dating a commoner.
She might not have been malicious to me, but it was true that she played a part in spreading this repulsive rumour.

Should I question her doing now?

“Lady Beth.”

When I called, the woman who was talking to Chloe turned to me.

“I have something to talk to you.
Could you spare me a minute?”

“Oh, of course.”

“What are you two going to talk about?”

Chloe was immediately interested.
I laughed at her saying it was a secret and moved to another place with lady Beth.

It was a noisy ballroom anyway, so we didn’t have to go far.
I took the lead and walked to the opposite corner.
Lady Beth, who followed me, looked at me with puzzled eyes.

“Do you have anything else to say?”

The people I chose to make friends with in this life were Chloe’s group, not lady Beth.
Since returning, I had never had a conversation with lady Beth.
So I pondered about what I was going to say.

I asked her.

“I don’t think I’ve made it clear on this point.”

“What are you talking about?”

“The rumour that I’m dating a commoner.”

“Ah…!”

Only then did she seem to understand why I called her.
She muffled as she gave me an apologetic look.

“I apologise, lady Nelson.
I shouldn’t have said that without even checking the fact…I should have told you in person first.”

She seemed to be genuinely sorry though.
I continued to ask her calmly.

“Lady Beth, where did you hear that rumour?”

“Ah, that’s…”

Again, lady Beth showed a perplexed look.
Since she most likely heard it from Daisy, she probably couldn’t answer right away.

“I saw her the other day, and she was—” (t/n: one of Daisy’s lines in the past to start some trashy gossip.)

Daisy was always talking about this sort of thing even in my previous life.
It was partly because her mouth was loose, and partly because she wanted to be the centre of attention during conversation.
Talking about these rumours would naturally draw attention to her.

This must have been how Daisy started the nonsense.

‘There is a guy Nelson is dating.
And he is a commoner! Can you believe it?’ I could already picture it in my head.

I didn’t think I would ask such a question despite knowing the culprit.
Still, I resumed the talk with lady Beth, who was hesitant to speak.

“I’m still in trouble because that vicious rumour has spread.”

Then, I heard a high-pitched voice behind me.

“A vicious rumor?”

When I turned around, I saw Daisy with her two little sidekicks on both sides.

“It’s been a while, Sienna.
I was wondering what you were talking about with lady Beth, turns out you were talking about ‘that’.”

Daisy raised her eyebrows as she smiled, and tapped me on the shoulder.
It seemed she was pretending to be friendly, but it just made me feel annoyed.

“Why didn’t you come and ask me directly? I would have told you.”

“Daisy, is it because of what happened to you last time?”

Not only was her apology not enough for me, but I couldn’t believe how brazen her attitude had gotten.
Her smile as she played all innocent was disgusting.

But I shouldn’t get mad here.

I tried to keep my face as composed as I could.
That was something Daisy’s good at.
I learned these things while being next to Daisy.

“What do you mean by that? I just said exactly what I saw… I didn’t expect you to be so fussy about it, to the point of calling lady Beth out to talk separately.
You two must have gotten very close.”

As expected, Daisy was wearing her usual mask.
She was putting on an innocent smile as if she didn’t know what was so wrong.
It’s abominable.

No matter how hard I tried, I could not beat Daisy at that part.

“In your eyes, it seemed there could only be a romantic relationship between a man and a woman.”

“Didn’t you say that you value him? So I didn’t want to say anything to ruin it, but… to be honest, it’s such a pity.
You are in the position that could do so much more than just going out with some commoner.”

“I don’t judge people by their status.
Also, I have a very pure relationship with Logan.”

“Really? It didn’t seem so to me though? Why didn’t you tell me in advance? That way I wouldn’t have misunderstood.”

Daisy smiled tenderly.

Why is she so annoying? I was being tolerant, but the more I spoke, the more difficult things got. What should I do with that smile? Suddenly, as if my wish was granted, Daisy’s smile hardened.
It was because something astonishing happened to her.

It was the same for me, too.

“Lady Sienna.
There you are.”

Logan came to me.
