Chapter 164 – “Dad, am I ugly in the photo?” (2)

Looking at all of the comments in the forum, Dong Mingming gave Gu Xi a worried look.
It didn’t take long for what she worried most to happen.

Someone recognized Gu Xi from the photo shortly.

[That’s Gu Xi in the photo if I am not mistaken?]

[Who? Gu Xi? The sophomore in Class #7?]

[Ugh! Goddess Xi? That can’t be……]

[Oh my gosh.
It really is her.]

Even though the part under her mouth and half of her face was covered up by the headgear, Gu Xi’s eyes were still very recognizable.

[I don’t get it.
Why did Gu Xi pick something like that?] Why couldn’t she pick something cute like the others?

After reading that comment, Gu Xi would love to tell them that: That really wasn’t her idea.

The game had ended now and Gu Chenyi had walked over.
He felt a little bummed when Gu Xi didn’t pay him any attention.
Then he noticed that both Gu Xi and Dong Mingming were staring at their phones, frowning.

“What’s the matter?” asked Gu Chenyi.

“We are being tear apart in the forum right now,” said Dong Mingming.
She then carried on to explain the incident of the picture wall to Gu Chenyi.

By now, more and more people and joined in this discussion.
Someone even started a poll: Which one is the ugliest photo on the picture wall?

Sure enough, Gu Xi took the first place in a landslide.
Dong Mingming, too, had the “honor” to take second place.

Looking at the discussion in the forum, Gu Chenyi’s face dropped visibly.

“Where did this photo come from?”

“Probably by the Art Club.
They were the group responsible for this and they were the ones posted the photo,” said Dong Mingming.
She frowned as she looked at the forum.
“Why do I get the feeling that someone had been drumming this up?”

Sure enough, people were only joking around harmlessly at the beginning then the tide had turned slowly.

[So ugly.]

[Sorry.
This is just too much for me.]

[I don’t feel that this is funny.
I just found it horribly ugly.]

[Gu Xi? I think she was one of the candidates for ‘student representative’, right?]

[I’m sorry.
I don’t think I will be able to cast her my vote after seeing this photo.]

These comments were purposefully malicious.

Dong Mingming opened up the link to the “Student Representative” and looked worried.
“Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
Your votes had been influenced.”

Gu Xi’s votes had been climbing quickly prior to this.
She was only a few dozen votes behind Gu XueEr and was about to undertake Gu XueEr but now the gap had increased.

“I know who did this then,” said Gu Chenyi in a deep voice through his gritted teeth.
Who else would be such a nutcase if not Gu XueEr?

She did all this because her votes were about to be surpassed by Gu Xi.

“You go home first.
I’ll deal with her,” said Gu Chenyi.
A hint of cold viciousness flashed past his eyes.

He was not close with Gu XueEr and they had always minded their own businesses in the past.
But Gu XueEr should not have gone after Gu Xi.

Gu Chenyi was just about to leave when Gu Xi grabbed the back of his jersey and dragged him back.

“Wait,” said Gu Xi to Gu Chenyi.

“Who are you going to look for? Gu XueEr?” If Gu Chenyi could figure it out that it was Gu XueEr behind this, so could Gu Xi.

“Mmm.” Gu Chenyi nodded and said to Gu Xi.
“Don’t worry.
This picture will be gone before tonight.”

Gu Xi, however, shook her head when she heard that.
“The internet has memory.” By now, it wouldn’t matter whether this picture was removed or not.

Gu Xi had already been through “violence” via the school forum in Liming.

Nevertheless, Gu Xi felt a sense of warmth inside of her when she saw how irritated Gu Chenyi was and how he wanted to right things for her.

“I have an idea,” said Gu Xi to Gu Chenyi with a smile.

“What kind of an idea?” asked Gu Chenyi dubiously.
