”Idiot. ”, the dark elf mocked him as she dived her kick toward the cauldron, causing the momentum of the cauldron to suddenly moved faster and poured all of its contents on top of the unconscious goblin!!

Kian shouted toward the old goblin, ”Grandpa Goblin, get back!! ”

The old goblin understood what he meant an evaded to his back for his other grandchildren. He had a sour look in his old expression as he couldn save his grandchild on the altar, Jari.

Kian bit his lips at the unknown substance covering the goblins body and blinked twice as if he was watching the body absorbing every single bit of those unknown contents.

*break*

The altar under the mechanism broke down into smaller pieces as the little goblin began to increase in size, triple… no!

Quadruple the size it used to be, it became 4m taller as Kian was stunned by its similar features to a goblin… only it looked back at him with murderous gaze.

”Keu…ukkk… ”

The birth of a Hobgoblin.

It grabbed a broken part of the mechanism and swung its new weapon like a bat toward Kian as he lifted his arms, unsure as to why he even thought of blocking the swing as he was then sent flying to the right by a sudden force!!

He slammed against the broken rubbles of the ruined church as blood escaped from his lips!

”Ghuk?!! ” [Strong… too strong…!!]

Kian couldn feel his left arm after taking that huge impact of a blow. He could only watch everything unfold as the old goblin was pushed back by a simple finger flick to its chest.

”Keuk!! Jari!! J-Jari!!!! ”, the old goblin cried, wanting his grandchild to return back to normal. His other siblings too wanted the old Jari back but… Jari was no longer theirs.

”Take those other three goblins, we
e leaving. ”, the dark elf commanded and the abomination shall obey. She left after kicking down a broadsword that was stuck in the ceiling back to the ground.

”Keukkk!! ”

”Gramps!! ”

The cries of the little goblins ceased as the Hobgoblin jumped out from the ruins through a crack in the ceiling to follow after its new master.

The old goblin was helpless to the very end. He could only… watch Jari took away his grandchildren from him.

Kian got up slow… and limped his way over to the old goblin. Yet, his eyes darted toward his unconscious friend. What happened to him earlier? Was he attacked by another one of that thing?!

He shook off his head from needless thoughts as he dropped down his large sack to see if anythings inside was broken.

He sighed with relief as he took out a cracked glass bottle with red liquid inside. He opened the lid and immediately chugged the entirety of the liquid inside as he felt his left arm reacting in pain.

[Healers can heal us without any notice of pain during recovery, but… drinking a health potion can heal us at the rate of fixing us up with the cost of feeling your body breaking apart.]

He slowly lifted his left arm as he felt aching pain still lingering within his body.

His eyes checked for Xalkrens body for any wounds and found dry blood from his wrist which concerned him.

He then noticed a light being reflected by the sunlight coming from an angle as he approached the unknown object in the corner of the ruins.

He found a mushroom… coated in real gold.

”…This is the **ing quest item. ”, he swore as he didn expect to find the object and complete the commission after a grueling encounter with a new monster.

”…Enn? ”, Xalkren opened up his eyes after feeling a gentle caressing, brushing his black hair softly.

He took notice of the white space in front of him before getting up to sit properly to face the person who had been with him in this odd space.

He averted his gaze immediately after noticing that the both of them were fully naked in this space. He also realised that the {Red Elf}, Elena had been watching over him in this space.

She giggled at him, although she was more surprised to find his biological reaction upon seeing her body. She was proud that her dark elf genes still managed to arouse anyone with a single look over at her hourglass figure.

”Where are we? ”, he asked, not letting her to continue watching his embarrassed face as he masked his reddened face with a serious expression.

He did not forget to cover up his biological reaction, which he noticed that was bothering her attention to him.

”Fufu, this is your meditation space. ”, she was having fun with the young {Prince of Evil}. However, she needed to stop as her time was running out.

”You have a high affinity of Dark energy, yes? ”

He nodded.

”How about your Light energy? ”

Xalkren took a second to answer her, ”Manageable, I can still use some Light Chakra in my strikes. ”

She nodded, it was pretty understandable as {Taoist} are master of balancing their inner core. However, it looked like Xalkren was having issues with balancing his powers due to his affinity.

”Meditate on your Light energy, young prince. ”, she gave her first advise on his problem, she began to add another right after, ”Control the amount of Dark energy you
e using at once and increase the potency of your Light energy. How about making your own «Dark Chakra Punch»? ”

”How do you even know about my skills? ”

”Because I was an {Assassin} like you? Well, Im more indebted to that illusion of yours. Well be meeting each other again soon, next time though… ”

Her eyes warmed up to him, ”Ill be waiting for you and your illusion to come. ”

”…What will happen next after that? ”, he asked. He wasn sure what would happen to him or her once the illusion appeared in front of them. That monstrosity was stronger than what he had encountered before…

He gritted his teeth, ”Feels like that damned bastard… ”, he cursed his father under his breath as he lifted his eyes for hers after hearing her steps were getting closer to him.

She was crawling on fours toward him as she stopped in front of him. She noticed that her body was beginning to disappear as her magic in the overworld were getting further away from his unconscious body.

Xalkren asked for one last request, ”Will you sing me that lullaby again? ”

”…Of course. ”, she placed his head against her laps and began humming on her notes to begin her lull-for-his-aby…

Kian sighed heavily as he looked after the old grandpa goblin holding onto his grandchildrens cloth scraps that they left behind after struggling with Jari.

Kian gave a start as he watched the old goblin summoned a hyena out from his palm. He then called the hyena over with a gesture of his hand as he brought the cloth scraps close to the hyenas nose.

The hyena sniffed up the smell of the cloth as it spun around sniffing the floor until it stopped to glare at the North. Kian took a mental note of this after noticing that the Hobgoblin had made a quick detour away from the West to change direction toward the North instead.

[Smart, such an abomination have a scary intelligence.]

The old goblin faced Kian next, catching his attention with his old voice, ”Friend… help us save grandchildren. ”

”… Ill help once I get stronger than now, that… ”, he had a bitter expression as he lifted his left arm slowly, still feeling some type of pain in it from blocking the attack, ”Powerful swing of your grandchild… surprised me. ”

He chose his words carefully as he smiled at the old goblin. The latter hugged Kian by his legs as if thanking him for being such a kind human to him and his grandchildren.

Kian forced a laugh as he scratched his cheek, ”What if Kuren wakes up to see you like this, gramps? I fear that he might attack you next. ”

He shook his head to his question, ”He hug Susuk, that human… kind too… ”

”Susuk was here? ”, Kian was surprised by Xalkren meeting and hugging a goblin rather than instantly killing them with his assassination skills.

[Maybe… he got hurt saving Susuk?…!!], he noticed Xalkren was slowly regaining his consciousness.

”Kuren! ”, he gently released the old goblins hands from his legs as he rushed to attend to his waking friends needs.

Xalkren groaned and coughed from inhaling dusts into his lungs by accident, ”Kahk–Kahk! Dusts? ”

He looked around to find the ruins around seemed… more ruined than before. He faced Kian and noticed an old goblin slowly approaching him from behind.

”…A grandpa goblin? ”, he muttered. Kian turned to face the old goblin with a sad look at Xalkren, ”Susuk… where? ”

Kian nodded after catching what the old goblin wanted to ask of Xalkren, ”Kuren, where is the little goblin? ”

”…I told her to run away. ”, he sighed as he got up. He then felt a sharp pain in his wrist as he looked for his wound. He was bewildered by the sight of his wounds as he never got injured during his encounter with the {Red Elf}, Elena.

”…I guess I shouldn tried to block her attack. ”

”Hm? ”

”Nothing. ”, he said loudly as he looked at him. He forced a faint smile as he asked, ”Lets head back and recuperate, we
e far too injured to continue investigating for the golden mushroom. ”, he pointed at Kians injured left arm and bowed slightly down toward the old goblin.

Kian rubbed his own hair as he pointed toward his large sack on the floor, he forced a chuckle as he spoke, ”Aha… about that… we found it. ”

”… ”, Xalkren walked toward the sack and was blinded by the golden mushroom. A smile crept on his face as he said.

”…Mission complete. ”
